Hydrodipping

Hydrodipping, also known as water transfer printing (WTP), is a process used to apply intricate patterns, designs, or textures onto three-dimensional objects. It involves placing a special film with a printed design on the surface of water, then dipping the object into the water, where the design adheres to the object’s surface. The film is generally made of a water-soluble material that dissolves, leaving just the ink on the object.

It’s commonly used to decorate things like helmets, automotive parts, firearms, and even electronics. The technique is valued for its ability to cover complex shapes with vibrant, multi-colored patterns.
